Our Christmas Tree

Christmas is one of our favorite seasons. This year our tree was actually up before Thanksgiving. Not that we were trying get a jump on Christmas but more for a science experience to see how long the tree would last. Needless to say our tree has bloomed at the ends and is healthy healthy healthy.

Our little family tradition is that matt always puts the lights on the tree and then I put the bulbs and such on the tree. We also made our own popcorn stands this year as a fun family home evening. We were planing on doing enough stands to go all over the tree but uh after to strands we realized that was a lot of work. We had a lot of fun decorating the tree and also wrapping the presents. I cannot wait until Christmas and Matt opens his presents!!!:)

An Early Chirstmas

Matt surprised me with an Early Christmas Present to go visit my grandparents. There are serving an LDS mission in Nauvoo, Illinois. I was so happy, and grateful to go, even though it was a short trip it was wonderful! My grandparents did not know we were coming so they were ecstatic! While there we went to the plays, all the sites, an Amish village, the temple, and a lot of other things. Here are a few, OK a lot of pictures.
My mom and little sister were able to come with me

This tree might look huge but we're all just super short

My day of Worship

Thanksgiving this year was great! On thanksgiving day we went to my dads side of the family. It was fun to see everyone and eat lots of food! That is the one thing about the giles family...we love food!
Then the day after thanskgiving we spent the day with Matts family. Everyone was in town because we take family pictures. After pictures we went back and yet again had a fancy feast with all the trimings. My favorite thanksgiving food is cauliflower and cheese!
Then we lounged around until 7:00 to go see Harry Potter. I am so thankful for family, I can especially be reminded of this on Thanksgiving day. This day was my day to worship all of the things which I love and am very grateful for!

I think I'm in Love

SO much has been happening in our lives lately! Matt has been given a great business opportunity and I am excited for him to start on this great adventure! I will tell you what it is in a later blog. I am just so proud to be his wife. He has accomplished great things and will continue to. I now have black hair and lost 10 pds...quite proud of that!

As for me I am doing my usual substitute teaching and work for Matt. I do enjoy substituting, especially when the kindergartners are throwing up, peeing their pants, and especially when they come running to me "Mrs. awings (some can't say there "R's") I got hit wit da ball an my toof fell out." I really do enjoy all of these occasions. I cannot wait until I can teach my own class someday. Or if that does not happen I cannot wait until I have children, and if that does not happen well I always have Matt and my animals:)

I came home from work and I found this:)

My hair is dark now, but I like it

Baby Kimber Lyn Rawlings

We are yet again an Aunt and Uncle! I hope I am not stealing the parents thunder by posting these pictures but she is just so cute! Matt's Brother (Tyler) had his little girl Wed, October 13 at around 5. She was 7 lbs. 11 oz and 19 1/2 inches long...quite little compared to her big brother T.K. We are so happy she is part of our family now! Amber did a great job I can honestly say after witnessing her give birth I am no longer scared for the same experience. OK, who am I kidding I am scared to death:) Here are a few pictures of Kimber and family.

This is 30 sec after being born

Kimber was so sad

"I want dad" T.K. says, so we put him in the window and took a picture with dad

New Truck, New Trailer...whats next!!!

Matt and I decided we needed to get another truck, especially for the winter. So we found this great work truck.. It's a dodge so of course Matt could not resist! We also bought a smaller trailer for matts "stuff", he has asked for one for 1 1/2 years now so finally we saved enough money to get him one!    Work has been crazy busy for him so he definitely needed one!
Here is his "New" Truck

The long awaited trailer

Five then Three then One now Five

Back in March Matt bought me some chicks! We raised them to the point they were laying eggs, we built them a beautiful chicken coop and then one night three of them mysteriously vanished. Or so I thought until Madison found a headless chicken over by our fence! Then the skunk got one more until we got it in a cage. We were left with one chicken and she was so lonely we had to get some more! So now we have yet again five chickens!

I think I can I think I can...

After another month gone by and still no baby I am feeling quite discouraged! However, one doctors appointment later and a dairy keen shake I have hope yet again! I cannot understand how some people think of getting pregnant and pow it happens and others struggle for years! For me this is my trial at this time and I will take what comes and love it! I will just remind myself I think I can I think I can I think I can!

On another note, the house is decorated for HALLOWEEN finally! I'm looking for some fun costumes for Matt and I. I have found a few we like but not quite sure yet! I absolutely love all of the colors that surround this beautiful valley! We enjoy sitting out on our deck watching the sunset and looking at all the oranges, reds, greens, and yellows throughout the mountains as well. Oh ya we also got 4 more chickens, cross our fingers that these ones won't get eaten!

Moons, Ghosts, Pumpkins and Green Cats
While I was watching Madison the other day she said "lets make cookies", so I said "OK, lets make Halloween cookies". She decorated some of them and while she wanted to initially make cookies to eat she ate lots of frosting and left the cookie:)

The Occasional Kieth Rawlings Family Reunion

Matt has always wanted to get all of his family together for a reunion. It finally happened. While we were going to head down south plans changed so we decided to stay in Heber Valley and have some fun here! While not everyone was able to stay the entire time it was fun to see everyone and have a good time! We went four-wheeling up to cascade and down snake creek, had a picnic, and stayed at an awesome place sat night, just lounged around and talked. Here are a few of the pictures we took along the way!
